Echo is in love with Narcissus, chasing after him in a forest. Meanwhile, Narcissus was looking for his comrades: “come here,” he called, “we must come together”. Echo repeated his words and they finally met. It was a terrible misunderstanding and a brutal rejection from Narcissus’ side. Still, Echo, poor girl, never stopped longing for him. Her voice faded away until all that was left was her voice, a voice that could not initiate speech herself, but only returned Narcissus' own words back to him.
